This 7-class course is designed for the Level 3 graduate or student who has experience blind tasting, knows the world of wine pretty well, and can write an accurate tasting note. This is the next phase to mastering blind tasting: knowing your regions and recognizing them in a blind. This can take years of effort to become good at and is a process, but I am offering tips and tools in this course to speed up your learning curve! Not only will we be blind tasting to ID wine regions, but wines will be presented with their laterals (meaning regions you often confuse other regions with) so you can really hone in on how to get to the right answer faster. Each class is 2 hours. Wine is sold separately.

Costs $405 for entire 7 class course per person.

Class 1: Red Burgundy Intensive

Thursday, April 22nd

What are some systems and ways of blind tasting different Burgundy Villages?  In this class we will be deep diving in to the nuances and differences between villages, vintages + quality levels to help you gain accuracy.

Class 2: Red Bordeaux Intensive

Thursday, April 29th

How can we become more accurate when blind tasting Bordeaux wines?  Vintages can change and even confuse you thinking a right bank is a left and vice versa.  We will be improving our village + vintage calls.

Class 3: Global Syrah or Grenache

Thursday, May 6th

Can you differentiate Priorat from CDP's?  What about throwing some new world Grenache in there?  How about Syrahs?  Can you tell Australian vs California, or different Northern Rhone Villages? Let's do it!

Class 4: Global Cabernet Sauvignon

Wednesday, May 12th

Outside of Bordeaux, Cabernet is a world traveler.  What are some markers and approaches to help us refine our calls. Margaret River, Tuscan Bordeaux blends, California, Washington state, Chile?

Class 5: Global Pinot Noirs

Winemaking and styles have shifted since the whole New World/Old world blind tasting approach was introduced. Styles have merged making it harder to discern regions. How can you sort through the differences now?

Class 6: Italian Reds North to South

Wednesday, May 26th

In a blind tasting setting it is sometimes hard to discern between Nebbiolo + Sangiovese.  What if we through in Chianti and Brunello?  How about Amarone or Aglianico? Let's lock down our Italian red markers.

Class 7: Mixed Bag Regions

Thursday, June 3rd

Here we mix it all up for you and introduce other regions not covered (Can you spot the Cab Franc? Malbec? Pinotage?) Perhaps we weave in some classics or modern renditions of the greats? How well will you do?
