Beginner Level Course
Beginner Level Course
The The WSET (Wine & Spirits Education Trust) courses are ideal for wine enthusiasts, trade professionals, or those interested in entering the industry. For professionals and consumers alike, the WSET courses provide an easy-to-understand, professional approach to learning about wine regions and wine styles in a comprehensive way. You will also learn how to systematically taste wines in a way that sets you apart as we taste through the main grapes around the world. Its certifications are globally recognized and respected.
Lindsay will be teaching this course in Sedona, AZ. She is a Master of Wine and has over 16 years experience teaching wine classes. She gets very excited about teaching tasting and especially loves newbies to help set them up with high level tasting skills and good habits and help them understand how to properly break down a wine. One of her signature "golden statements" is "Wine always tells you about itself (where it's from, what grape, etc,) you just need to learn to listen to what it's saying." As an MW her approach is constantly linking the "why" to the "what". It's fun to list flavors, but what do they tell you about the wine's story?
Decanter Tasting Room is situated in the Village of Oak Creek Collective and has quickly become a favorite among both visitors and locals alike; perhaps because no other tasting room in the Verde Valley showcases a new wine region to explore every month. The owner, Ken Ewing, an avid wine and travel lover, sees his regional tasting method as a way for his customers to “travel locally” and explore the world of wine quite literally.
Lindsay and the Ewing family are excited to share their passion and skills with the community in Sedona at Decanter Tasting Room. We sincerely looks forward to making some new friends and sharing laughs in the classroom with thirsty Sedona wine enthusiasts. Thanks for supporting the family business and Wine Smarties as we debut these amazing courses!

Lindsey is extremely knowledgeable about wine, and she's pretty funny as well. The class was casual and fun, and of course involved lots of wine drinking, so it was a blast. Highly recommend.
